The dZi Foundation, Mountainfilm’s nonprofit partner, works in partnership with remote communities in Nepal to create lasting improvements in their quality of life. The Last Honey Hunter film came about as a result of the dZi Foundation’s work in the remote village of Saadi, Nepal. dZi’s long term approach built trust with the honey hunters and their community over nearly a decade, which is what granted the filmmakers such intimate access to this amazing and threatened tradition. The dZi Foundation is working closely with community of Saadi to help preserve their important way of life for coming generations.
